Jakarta, 31 March 2008 Japanese Government Scholarship Students to Japan

76 Indonesian students are leaving for Japan on 1st April 2008 to continue their studies in various fields as Japanese Government (Monbukagakusho) Scholarship Students.
The batch consists of 41 research students of the graduate level, 10 Undergraduate (S-1) students, 13 College of Technology (D-3) students and 12 Professional Training College (D-2) students.
The Japanese Government Scholarship Students are provided with a monthly stipend and round-trip tickets to Japan and are exempted from school fees. As of 1st May 2007, 1,596 Indonesian students are studying at universities in Japan and 666 students of them are Japanese Government Scholarship Students.
The farewell party for the Japanese Government Scholarship Students was held on 31st March 2008 in the Embassy of Japan. In this party, H.E. Mr. Shin Ebihara, Ambassador of Japan, addressed, “This year is the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Indonesia and many events are scheduled to be implemented. We hope you will participate in such events actively. We expect that you will play active roles as bridges between Japan and Indonesia in the future.”
The Embassy will start recruitment of Japanese Government Scholarship Students for 2009 from April 2008 or later.
