Project for Supporting Voter Education for General Election in Jakarta, Bandung, Makassar, Manado and Medan through Radio

Outline:
The Japanese government has decided to extend its assistance to five voter education projects, by providing grant assistance of total up to US$ 270,889 (approximately Rp. 2 billion), considering that free and fair elections are significantly important for democratization in Indonesia.

The summary of the five projects is as follows,

  1. "The project for supporting voter education for general elections in West Java, Central Java, East Java, and Banten Province"
    This project aims at disseminating information on the new elections system, including new voting procedure by distributing PR materials through Muhammadiyah’s regular study seminars in four provinces in Jawa Island.


  2. "The project for supporting voter education for general elections in Yogyakarta"
    This project is to hold seminars on the new elections system, including new voting procedure, and the participants of these seminars will deliver PR materials in Yogyakarta.


  3. "The project for supporting voter education for general elections in North Sulawesi"
    This project has three components, such as (1) seminars on the new elections system, including new voting procedure, (2) delivery of PR materials (Booklets, T-shirts, and Caps), and (3) voter education through radio in North Sulawesi.


  4. "The project for supporting voter registration in general elections"
    This project is to advocate the importance of voter registration through PR materials, and to conduct voter registration sampling survey in 12 provinces.


  5. "The project for supporting voter education for general elections in Jakarta, Bandung, Makassar, Manado and Medan through radio"
    This project is to broadcast talk shows related to general elections through radio in five major cities.
