Outline:
The objective of the project is to lay foundations for improving professional education and promote basic research in medical and agricultural science in Gadjah Mada University, one of the leading universities in Indonesia. The project consists of constructing school buildings, improving teaching and research equipment, and increasing the competence of the teaching staff with a fellowship program in Japan. The project will thereby improve and expand the faculties of medical and agricultural science (faculties of medicine, dentistry, forestry, agriculture, agricultural technology, veterinary medicine, and animal husbandry). This project is almost finished, except for the rehabilitation of the damage caused by the earthquake in May 2006, which is under way. The project is due to be completed by early 2009.
