Outline:
The objective of the project is to increase rice production by constructing and rehabilitating medium-sized irrigation facilities in the islands of Sumatra, Kalimantan and Java, thereby contributing to poverty reduction through strengthening the production infrastructure in rural farming villages. Under this project, 15 sub-projects of 19 planned sub-projects have been implemented (9 in Sumatra, 4 in Java, and 2 in Kalimantan). The project is due to be completed in 2009.
