The scope of the project consists of constructing two 275 kV transmission lines, which will connect power systems between these two provinces, and increasing the existing substation's voltage from 150 kV to 275 kV. This will lead to an improved investment climate and thereby contribute to economic development in both provinces. The project is due to be completed in 2012.
