Outline:
The government of Indonesia is making its utmost effort toward health sector reform based on "Healthy Indonesia 2010", for the purpose of strengthening the prevention of diseases and improvement and expansion high-quality health care service that is equitable and affordable for its citizens.

The government of Japan, responding the request from the Indonesian government, has decided to provide basic medical equipment for all 11 general hospitals in the province of West Kalimantan, which has still mortality of infants and mothers. This assistance is expected to improve the obstetric emergency care in the province of West Kalimantan.
