Outline:
The Province of Nusa Tenggara Timur located in the eastern part of Indonesia is one of the poverty provinces in Indonesia. The province has small gross regional product per capita that is less than one third of a gross national product per capita. In order to enhance economic activities, it is most important issue to improve distribution of goods and human's interchanges by bridge construction.
The province has only one arterial road from Kota Kupang to the border with The Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste through mountain area. But the arterial road doesn't work well all year because heavy rain cut the road and the prohibition of heavy track to the road. It is not sufficient for transportation and distribution.
The government of Indonesia is constructing new arterial road through coastal area in order to improve and keep a daily life of the people in this area. Under current situation, they still withstand inconvenience in daily life because of no big bridges on the new road.
This project is to construct two big new bridges (Menu Bridge and Fatuat Bridge) on the constructing new coastal arterial road for improving daily life of the people in the province of Nusa Tenggara Timur and to keep traffic smoothly and steadily during not only dry season but also rainy season.
