1. On Monday, January 31 at 11:00 a.m., the handover ceremony of the project for improvement of pump drainage in poverty districts (signed in March 2004) will be held in River Basin Development Office (Directorate-General of Water Resource, Department of Public Works), Jl. Inspeksi Saluran, Tarum Barat No. 58, Cawang, Jakarta-Selatan Jakarta, with an attendance of Mr. Masato Watanabe, Minister of Embassy of Japan.

2. This grant aid project is to provide highly efficient and easy operating mobile pumps in order to alleviate the damages in flooded areas caused by the problems with the rainwater drainage system in DKI Jakarta, as a measure of urgency until a comprehensive flood control system will be established.
Total amount of the grant aid is 335 million Yen (approximately Rp. 25.9 billion)

3. It is expected that the introduction of these mobile pumps will contribute to the socio-economic stability in DKI Jakarta by improving the living environment of the people in flooded areas as well as the economic activities during the flood season.
