Senior Vice Minister for Defense, Defense Agency of Japan, Visit Indonesia

1. Mr. Hiroshi Imazu, Senior Vice Minister of the Defense Agency of Japan will visit Banda Aceh from 5 to 6 February 2005.

2. Mr. Imazu will have a meeting with Major General Bambang Darmono, the Commander of the TNI’s Aceh Disaster Management Task Force, and with the officials of UNOCHA, in Banda Aceh. He will also inspects the Emergency Releif activities of the Japan Self Defense Forces (JSDF) in Aceh.

3. The itinerary of Mr. Imazu is as follows:

5 February 2005
13:10Arrive at Iskandar Muda air port, Banda Aceh (by JSDF Air Force transport aircraft U-4).
13:40Meeting with Major General Bambang Darmono, the Commander of the TNI’s Aceh Disaster Management Task Force, in Banda Aceh
14:40Meeting with the Commander of the with officials of UNOCHA, in Banda Aceh
16:30Leave Iskandar Muda airport for the Amphibious Ship “Kunisaki” by JSDF Army helicopter
16:45Arrive at “Kunisaki”; an address of instructions and inspection of the naval ship
6 February 2005
07:45Leave “Kunisaki” by JSDF Army helicopter
08:00Arrive at Iskandar Muda airport and inspect JSDF Army
08:40Inspection of the activities of Emergency Relief Unit of JSDF Army in Lam Ara, Banda Aceh
09:40Leave Iskandar Muda air port, Banda Aceh, for Utapao, Thailand (by JSDF Air Force transport aircraft U-4)
