Scholarship for Government Officials to Take Master Degree in Japan
(Japanese Grant Aid)

1. Application for the scholarship to study in Japan by the Japanese Grant Aid will start on September 13, 2005. This scholarship is based on “The Project for Human Resource Development Scholarship” which is financially supported by the Japanese Government’s Grant to the Indonesian Government. This year is the fourth year of the program and those who are selected will start their study in Japan from July 2006.

2. The candidates for this scholarship must be central and local government officials, including university lecturers. This program is designed to accept 30 government officials and university lecturers for master’s degree programs in Japanese universities in 7 fields of study, namely, Public Administration, Public Policy, Law, Economics, Business Administration, International Relations and Information Technology. The accepting universities include Hitotsubashi University (Public Policy and Economics), University of Tsukuba (International Relations), Waseda University (Business Administration and Information Technology) and several others.

3. Major application requirements are as follows:
      (a)a citizen of the Republic of Indonesia
      (b) not over 40 years old as of April 1st, 2006
      (c) government officials (including university lecturers)
      (d) engaged in the profession for 2 years or more
      (e) have a Bachelor degree (S1)

4. Application Documents will be available by downloading from the website of JICE (http://sv2.jice.org/jds/), and will be also available in JICE JDS Project Office in Indonesia, Embassy of Japan in Indonesia, Consulate General of Japan at Makassar, Medan and Surabaya, JICA Indonesia Office, Sekretariat Negara, Government Offices and State Universities. Application Documents must be submitted to JICE JDS Project Office in Indonesia by 17:30 December 6 (Tuesday), 2005. More detailed information can be obtained from the contact point below.
