1. Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi sent a message to Presiden of the Republic of Indonesia, H.E. Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono to extend his condolences to the deceased and the bereaved and also express his heartfelt sympathies toward the injured in regard to the major bomb explotions in Kuta and Jimbaran areas in Bali, Indonesia on the night of October 1. In the message, Prime Minister Koizumi also expressed his intention to support Indonesia’s effort in investigation of this case and in preventing recurrence.

2. Foreign Minister of Japan Nobutaka Machimura also sent a similar message to Foreign Minister of the Republic of Indonesia, H.E. Hassan Wirajuda.
