The Japanese Cultural Event in Yogyakarta
(“What’s in Your Pockets II”)

1. The Embassy of Japan in Indonesia, along with the related host organization, will hold a Japanese cultural event in Yogyakarta, named “What’s in Your Pockets (WYP) II” from February 24 to March 2, 2006. This is the second WYP. The first WYP was held in December 2003 on occasion of the “Japan ASEAN Exchange Year 2003” in Yogyakarta..

2. A music concert featuring J-Pop-influenced local bands will be held on February 24, followed by an art exhibition from February 24 to March 2, 2006 on works of computer graphics and ASCII Art, which have become popular on the internet as cyberculture.

3. It is expected that this event could draw the attention of the people in the area toward Japan, and help to promote the exchange among both Japanese and Indonesian youth.
