Jakarta, April 13, 2006 Japanese Decoration for Three Indonesian Dignitaries

The Government of Japan announced today, 29 April 2006 that three Indonesian dignitaries, namely Mr. Sukisman Sindunegoro, Mr. Ermansyah Jamin and Mr. Jusuf Wanandi, are to be conferred Japanese decoration The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbons in recognition of their meritorious services to the promotion of Japan-Indonesia relationship, particularly the cultural and economic relations.
Specified information on the recipients of the decoration is as follows:
  Mr. Sukisman Sindunegoro (81 years old)
Former Rector of Darma Persada University;
Former Deputy II BAKIN (Indonesian national intelligence Coordination board)
For his meritorious services of contributing to the introduction of Japanese culture to Indonesia, and to the promotion of understanding on Japan.
  Mr. Ermansyah Jamin (68 years old)
Former President Director of PLN (State Electricity Company)
Former President of PERSADA (Association of Indonesian Alumni from Japan)
For his meritorious services of contributing to the exchanges of science, economy and culture between Japan and Indonesia, and to the promotion of understanding on Japan.
  Mr. Jusuf Wanandi (68 years old)
Former Chairman of the Supervisory Board, CSIS (Center for Strategic and International Studies)
Current Vice Chairman, Board of Trustees, CSIS Foundation
For his meritorious services of contributing to the strengthening of the economic relations between Japan and Indonesia, and to the promotion of understanding on Japan.
