Jakarta, 29 March 2006 1. 71 Indonesian students are leaving for Japan on April 3, 2006 to continue their studies in various fields as Japanese Government (Monbukagakusho) Scholarship Students. 2. The batch consist of 41 research students of the graduate level; 9 Undergraduate (S-1) students; 11 College of Technology (D-3) students; 10 Special Training College (D-2) students. Before last year, only government officials and teachers of universities had been qualified for the research student program. However, currently it is not limited to those people who are qualified to apply for the research student program since last year. The research students leaving for Japan this April is the first batch after that, including some employees of private firms and fresh graduates. 3. At the farewell party held on March 29, Minister Kuroki, Charge d'Affaires ad interim, of the Embassy of Japan said in his address that “I hope that, after a couple of years, you could accomplish your purpose, have experience in Japan, have many friends and come back home to play active role in various fields. Also, I will be glad if you can contribute to the development of the relationship between our two countries.” 4. The Embassy of Japan is now receiving applications for the research students of the graduate level who will leave for Japan in April or October 2007 (Tel: 021-3192-4308, website: http://www.id.emb-japan.go.jp). 5. The Embassy will also start receiving applications for the Undergraduate (S-1), College of Technology (D-3) and Special Training College (D-2) students for the year of 2007 from the end of May. |
