Jakarta, April 29, 2007 Japanese Decoration for Spring 2007 Conferred Upon Two Indonesian Dignitaries and a Japanese National in Indonesia

The Government of Japan announces today 29 April 2007 that two Indonesian dignitaries and a Japanese national living in Indonesia have been named recipients of the Japanese Decoration to be conferred for Spring 2007, in recognition of their meritorious services in strengthening the Japan-Indonesia relations.
Name of the recipients :
Mr. Ali Alatas, SH (74 years)
Decoration : Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun
Former Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia.
Current Advisor and Special Envoy of the President of the Republic of Indonesia.
Meritorious service : Contribution to promoting the friendly relations between Japan and Indonesia, and to raising the status of Japan in the world.
Dr. Djunaedi Hadisumarto (68 years)
Decoration : The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon
Former Chairman of BAPPENAS
Former Dean of the Faculty of Economics, University of Indonesia.
Meritorious service : Contribution to strengthening the economic relations and enhancing mutual understanding between Japan and Indonesia.
Mr. Kenichi Kuroda (70 years)
Decoration : The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays
Former Toray Indonesia Assistant Representative;
Presently: PT Toray Industries Indonesia (PT TIN) Advisor; and PT Jabato International Indonesia President-Commisioner
Meritorious service : Contribution to spreading and developing judo in Indonesia; and contribution to enhancing safety of the Japanese community in Indonesia and solving labor problems in Japanese companies operating in Indonesia.
